Open the Windows Registry Editor (regedit), and go to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/FileSystem
Set the value of the NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation key to 1.
Restart the system.
